NFL Divisional Round Preview and Picks

Disclaimer: This analysis and these picks are not being given by a smart person.

Let’s ride.

Saturday 4:35PM. Minnesota @ San Francisco(-7.0) O/U 44.5

Kirk Cousins was not supposed to win last week. Kirk Cousins is not supposed to win this week. Kirk Cousins will not win this week. The 49ers will run it down the Vikings throat all game and control the clock. I simply can’t bring myself to bet on Kirk Cousins on the road in a divisional round playoff game. Won’t do it. That’s my analysis.

Pick: San Francisco -7

Final Score Prediction: 49ers 24 Vikings 14

Saturday 8:15PM. Tennessee @ Baltimore(10.0) O/U 47

Tennessee is maybe the most popular team in America right now. They did us all a favor and got the fraud Patriots the fuck out of here so we wouldn’t have to waste our time watching that team the rest of these playoffs. That being said, this has been the season of Lamar. There is a reason Baltimore is the #1 seed. 10 points is a lot though. Tennessee does has the ability to sustain long, clock-chewing drives with Derrick Henry. That makes me think even if the Ravens control this game and look like the better team from start to finish a blowout may be unlikely. Ravens win, Titans Cover.

Pick: Tennessee +10

Final Score Prediction: Ravens 31 Titans 23

Sunday 3:05PM. Houston @ KC(-10.0) O/U 51

Houston won this game at Arrowhead week 6 this season. Houston also won a game last week that they should have lost. Truthfully, Deshaun Watson is able to make enough plays that they have a chance of winning almost any game they play in. However, this feels like a shootout between two of the best young QBs in the league that the Chiefs end up winning. With some mid-season struggles, slight Mahomes regression, and other teams dominating the news cycle the Chiefs have not had the same hype that surrounded them last year. I think they come out on Sunday though and remind everyone what their offense can do.

Pick: O 51

Final Score Prediction: Chiefs 34 Texans 27

Sunday 6:40PM. Seattle @ Green Bay(-5.0) O/U 47

Final game of the weekend between two teams who are probably worse than their records indicate. But, one of them will be in the NFC championship. This matchup has ugly game written all over it. I’m too lazy to check weather but I’m sure it’ll be cold as shit in Green Bay. We’re also guaranteed to have some weird shit happen with these two teams facing each other which makes it a hard game to pick. I’m going with Seattle and the upset here. As long as Pete Carroll puts the ball in Wilson’s hands as much as possible I think they have a real shot here.

Pick: Seattle +5

Final Score Prediction: Seattle 24 Packers 21
